Abstract
Radioterapija predstavlja metodu liječenja karcinoma primjenom ionizirajućeg zračenja, a njen osnovni cilj je isporučiti najveću moguću dozu zračenja na tumorske stanice, te tako osigurati što bolju kontrolu bolesti, a istodobno što manje oštetiti okolna zdrava tkiva. Radioterapija predstavlja vrlo složen proces kojeg je potrebno pažljivo isplanirati. Značajnu ulogu u tome imaju sustavi za pozicioniranje pacijenata koji predstavljaju temu istraživanja ovoga rada. Takvi sustavi osiguravaju minimalna odstupanja položaja pacijenta prilikom isporuke tretmana od položaja tijekom planiranja liječenja. Na taj način se osigurava učinkovitost terapije i sama sigurnost pacijenta, a razvojem novih tehnologija i ideja uvelike se doprinosi borbi protiv karcinoma, što upravo predstavlja cilj rada.
Abstract (english)
Radiotherapy is a method of treating cancer using ionizing radiation, and its main goal is to deliver the highest possible dose of radiation to tumor cells, thus ensuring better control of the disease, while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. Radiotherapy is a very complex process that needs to be carefully planned. Patient positioning systems, which are the research topic of this paper, play a significant role in this. Such systems ensure minimal deviations of the patient’s position when delivering treatment from the position during treatment planning. In this way, the effectiveness of the therapy and the patient's safety are ensured, and the development of new technologies and ideas greatly contributes to the fight against cancer, which is the main goal of this paper.
