This final paper describes, in generally, characteristics of the ship pipelines, pipeline elements and their role on vessels. The main division of the pipeline by type, purpose, operating pressure and temperature is indicated. Guidelines for the design and construction of pipelines are also mentioned. On the example of the ballast water system used on live fish carrier vessel, the nominal diameter of the pipe is dimensioned according Croatian register of shipping and the pressure drop is calculated for the most unfavourable piping section. The maximum geodetic suction head of the ballast pump is calculated as well. The design scheme and data on pipeline elements were used as the basis for preparation the workshop documentation. For the preparation of the workshop documentation, computer programs were used: Foran V70 i.e. Fpipe module for three-dimensional pipeline design and pipe segment extraction, ISOM module for pipe segment isometrics extraction, Fdesign module for arrangement drawings, and AutoCAD for additional design processing. The implementing technical documentation consists of pipeline isometrics and assembly drawings.
