Abstract
Banke imaju veliki značaj i ulogu u nacionalnoj makroekonomskoj i monetarnoj politici budući da se preko njih novac i krediti kreću prema ukupnom gospodarstvu. Bankarsko poslovanje je poslovanje koje obuhvaća držanje depozita te izdavanje kredita. Organizacija i funkcioniranje suvremenog bankarstva zasnovano je na kreditu, a sustav kredita moguć je uglavnom zbog razvoja bankarskog sektora. Bankarski sektor se sastoji od centralne banke, poslovnih banaka te štednih i drugih financijskih institucija. Ulogu središnje banke u Republici Hrvatskoj obnaša Hrvatska narodna banka, a uz nju na tržištu djeluje još dvadeset poslovnih banaka te četiri stambene štedionice. Središnja banka osnovana je osamostaljenjem naše zemlje, davne 1990. godine i u svome radu je samostalna i neovisna, a izvješća podnosi Hrvatskom saboru. Stabilnost i sigurnost bankovnog sustava je od izuzetnog značaja jer samo takav sustav može disperzirati rizike koji nastaju u poslovanju te poticati gospodarski razvoj svake zemlje.
Abstract (english)
Banks play a major role in national macroeconomic and monetary policies as they move money and credit towards the overall economy. Banking is a business that involves keeping a deposit and issuing a loan. The organization and functioning of modern banking is based on credit, and the credit system is possible mainly due to the development of the banking sector. The banking sector consists of the central bank, commercial banks and savings and other financial institutions. The role of the central bank in the Republic of Croatia is played by the Croatian National Bank, with twenty commercial banks and four housing savings banks operating on the market. The Central Bank was founded on the independence of our country in 1990, and is independent in its work and reports to the Croatian Parliament. The stability and security of the banking system is of paramount importance because only such a system can disperse the risks arising in business and stimulate the economic development of each country.
