The focus of this work is on the analysis of revenue in one of the most significant tourist counties of the Republic of Croatia, specifically the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Given that it is a county, special emphasis is placed on fiscal decentralization, and due to its touristic importance, also on tourism-related revenue. The first part of the work is general in nature and is common to all counties. In this section, the basic structure of regional self-government is examined, with an emphasis on their funding mechanisms and the structure of county revenues within the total revenues of the Republic of Croatia. Additionally, the impact of external factors is analyzed, in2 this case, the filming of the series "Game of Thrones" and the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic on tourism and consequently on the revenues of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. General information about the county itself is provided, including a historical overview, geographical positioning, and an analysis of its touristic significance. The second part of the work is specific in nature and relates to the budget of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. It also examines and dissects the 2024 budget, as well as the budget plans for 2025 and 2026, taking into account the planned revenues and expenditures.
