Within this thesis, an artificial intelligence agent fot the game of Othello was implemented in the Python programming language. The agent makes decisions using the minimax algorithm with alpha beta pruning, heuristics and various algorithm improvements such as transposition tables, killer moves and iterative deepening. Results and statistics of various heuristics and algorithm improvements are presented and described. A web application has also been created that allows players to try their hand against the agent. The web application was built using React for the user interface, Flask for the server and MongoDB as the database. In the theoretical part of the paper, in addition to the theoretical overview of the algorithm, heuristics and improvements, an overview of the implementation details of the agent, game and web application is given.
