Abstract
Rad obrađuje pojam kriptovaluta te blockchain tehnologiju. Pojašnjava se povijest novca i pojava kriptovaluta, vrste kriptovaluta te njihove prednosti i nedostaci. Na primjeru najpoznatije kriptovalute pod nazivom bitcoin opisuje se tehnologija na kojoj se zasniva rad kriptovaluta i pojašnjava proces rudarenja, odnosno način održavanja mreže te stvaranja novih jedinica kriptovalute. Također, daje se kronološki pregled kretanja vrijednosti bitcoina od nastanka do danas kada njegove vrijednosti obilježava izraziti silazni trend. Istražuje se odnos kriptovaluta i gospodarstva te računovodstveni i porezni aspekt. Posljednji dio rada proučava kriptovalute s pravnog gledišta na području Republike Hrvatske te u Europskoj Uniji i svijetu.
Abstract (english)
The paper deals with the concept of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. The history of money and the emergence of cryptocurrencies, the types of cryptocurrencies and their advantages and disadvantages are explained. Using the example of the most famous cryptocurrency called bitcoin, the technology on which the operation of the cryptocurrency is based is described and the mining process is explained, that is to say, the way to maintain the network and create new units of the cryptocurrency. Also, a chronological overview of the dynamics of the value of bitcoin from its creation to the present day, when its value is characterized by a distinct downward trend, is given. The relationship between cryptocurrencies and the economy, as well as the accounting and tax aspects, are explored. The last part of the paper studies cryptocurrencies from a legal point of view in the territory of the Republic of Croatia, in the European Union, and the world.
