Abstract
Bankarski sustav glavni je faktor suvremenog gospodarstva jedne zemlje. Banka je financijska institucija koja prikuplja sredstva u obliku depozita te ih plasira u obliku kredita. U današnjem vremenu, život je nezamisliv bez bankarskog sustava jer se svaki čovjek svakodnevno susreće sa pojedinim bankarskim proizvodima ili uslugama. Danas, banke nude širok asortiman različitih proizvoda i usluga. Postoji mnogo različitih podjela banaka, ali one se općenito dijele na: središnje banke, depozitno-kreditne banke, specijalizirane banke, univerzalne banke i štedionice. Hrvatski bankarski sustav sastoji se od Hrvatske narodne banke, 20 banaka i 2 stambene štedionice.
Abstract (english)
The banking system is a major factor in a country's modern economy. A bank is a financial institution that raises funds in the form of deposits and places them in the form of loans. Nowadays, life is unthinkable without a banking system because every person encounters certain banking products or services on a daily basis. Today, banks offer a wide range of different products and services. There are many different categories of banks, but they are generally categorized into: central banks, deposit-credit banks, specialized banks, universal banks and savings banks. The Croatian banking system consists of the Croatian National Bank, 20 banks and 2 housing savings banks.
