The analysis of connecting a wind power plant to the electrical grid requires a thorough assessment of technical and economic aspects to ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the connection of wind power plants to the grid, including the history of wind turbine development, the current situation in Croatia, and the technical challenges and solutions related to the integration of renewable energy sources. The paper details all the necessary steps for the realization of a wind power plant project, including obtaining the required documentation, adhering to legal regulations, and market policies. Special emphasis is placed on the new Electricity Market Act, which came into force in 2021, bringing changes to the procedures and rules for connecting new projects. The technical part of the paper focuses on the analysis of the optimal technical connection solution, utilizing the advanced software tool PowerCAD for load flow and voltage condition calculations. The methodology for short-circuit calculations and the N-1 analysis is presented, ensuring that the system can withstand exceptional situations without compromising network stability.
