Abstract
Kreditne rejting agencije su privatne tvrtke čije je poslovanje usmjereno na procjenjivanje kreditne sposobnosti država i financijskih instrumenata kao što su obveznice, dionice i komercijalni papiri. Kako se kroz vrijeme razvijao i mijenjao financijski sustav i primjena novih financijskih instrumenata tako se mijenjala i uloga kreditnih rejting agencija pri čemu su one postale neizostavan sudionik razvijenih financijskih sustava. Na financijskom tržištu se uočava dominantna uloga triju vodećih kreditnih rejting agencija Standard & Poor's, Moody's i Fitch koje pokrivaju oko 95% ukupnog svjetskog tržišta. Do izbijanja financijske krize koja je započela 2007. godine na tržištu nekretnina, a zatim tijekom 2008. godine poprimila globalne razmjere, sudionici na financijskom tržištu su imali ogromno povjerenje u rejting agencije.
Abstract (english)
Credit rating agencies are private companies whose business is focused on assessing the creditworthiness of states and financial instruments such as bonds, shares and commercial papers. As time has evolved and changed the financial system and the application of new financial instruments, the role of credit rating agencies has changed, and they have become an inevitable participant in developed financial systems. In the financial market there is a dominant role of the three leading rating agencies Standard & Poor's, Moody's and Fitch, who covers about 95% of the global market. Until the financial crisis that began in the real estate market in 2007 and then took on global scale in 2008, financial market participants had tremendous confidence in rating agencies.
