Abstract
OTC tržišta ili tržišta preko šaltera su financijska tržišta koja nemaju svoje mjesto trgovanja nego se trgovanje između uključenih strana odvija preko trgovaca vrijednosnih papira telefonski ili putem sofisticirane komunikacijske mreže. Vrijednosnim papirima koji ne mogu biti uvršteni na organiziranim burzama trguje se na OTC tržištima. Dileri vrijednosnih papira održavaju likvidnost OTC tržišta koja je manja uspoređujući je s organiziranim burzama. Razvojem tehnologije i interneta dolazi do sve većeg stapanja OTC tržišta i organiziranih burzi. OTC tržišta pružaju veće mogućnosti zarade, ali zbog manjka regulacije tržišta postoji opasnost od prevara i velikih gubitaka.
Abstract (english)
OTC markets or over - the - counter markets are financial markets that do not have their own trading venue, but trading between the involved parties takes place trough securities dealers by telephone or through a sophisticated communication network. Securities that can not be listed on organized stock exchanges are traded on OTC markets. Securities dealers maintain OTC market liquidity which is less compared to organized stock exchanges. With the development of technology and the Internet, the OTC markets and organized exchanges are increasingly merging. OTC markets offer higher earning opportunities, but due to less regulation of the market there is a risk of fraud and large losses.
