Machine tools are of utmost importance nowadays. As the modern world would be inconceivable without them, huge efforts and resources are being invested in their development. Thus, the topic of this final assignment is the methodical development of a profile milling machine. The goal of the paper is to create an efficient, functional, and cost-effective machine for the milling of different shapes on metal profiles, namely following the principles of methodical product development. As is the case with any device or machine, it is necessary to do as much work as possible with as little energy as possible. The introductory part provides a brief description of copy milling machines, while the second part briefly describes the milling process. Point three covers the methodical development of products. This begins with the creation of a list of demands and wishes and is followed by the calculation of the cutting force, power and torque, as well as by the functional structure, morphological box, and the description and display of the constructed variants in the Inventor professional 2023 CAD program, and finally by the technical and economic valuation of variants and the selection of the most favorable variant. The final part of the paper includes attachments with manufacturing component drawings for the selected variant.
