Abstract
Tržište kao mjesto na kojem se susreću ponuda i potražnja određeno je brojnim varijablama. Konkurencija sa svojim različitim tržišnim oblicima predstavlja jednu od njih. Prepoznavanje različitih oblika tržišnih struktura i njihovih najvažnijih obilježja predstavlja osnovu poznavanja tržišta i podlogu pozicioniranja određenog proizvoda. U ovom završnom radu pružen je teorijski pregled različitih oblika tržišnih struktura s ciljem definiranja tržišne strukture globalnog tržišta pametnih telefona. Analizirajući podatke o količinama prodanih pametnih telefona na globalnoj razini u 2021. i 2022. godini, kao i ostale determinante tržišta pametnih telefona, istraživanje upućuje na zaključak da se tržište pametnih telefona na globalnoj razini može okarakterizirati kao oligopol. Najvažniji proizvođači pametnih telefona u analiziranom su razdoblju; Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, Vivo i Oppo. Konačno, usporedba podataka o prodaji pametnih telefona na hrvatskom tržištu u odnosu na globalno ukazuje na ponešto drukčiji poredak proizvođača. Konkretno zastupljenost Apple-a je značajno manja.
Abstract (english)
The market as a place where supply and demand meet is determined by numerous variables. Competition with its different market forms is one of them. Recognizing different forms of market structures and their most important features is the basis of market knowledge and the basis for positioning a certain product. In this paper, a theoretical overview of different forms of market structures is provided with the aim of defining the market structure of the global smartphone market. Analyzing data on the volumes of smartphones sold globally in 2021 and 2022, as well as other determinants of the smartphone market, the research leads to the conclusion that the smartphone market at the global level can be characterized as an oligopoly. The most important manufacturers of smartphones in the analyzed period are; Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo. Finally, a comparison of smartphones sales data on the Croatian market with the global market indicates a slightly different market shares of manufacturers. In particular, the representation of Apple is significantly lower.
