Abstract
Predmet navedenog rada je turizam na otocima. Cilj rada je kroz teorijsku osnovu, kao i na primjeru pobliže objasniti važnost temeljitog razumijevanja otočnog turizma i njegove specifičnosti. Osim sunca i mora koji su karakteristični pull faktori za otoke diljem Hrvatske, jedan od motiva je očuvanost prirode kao i njena bioraznolikost. U radu se navodi specifičnost otočnog turizma općenito, što se kasnije primjenjuje na otoku Šolti. Također se navode dobre i loše strane koje je razvoj turizam povukao sa sobom, kao i što bi otoci trebali mijenjati kako bi postali atraktivniji, no atraktivniji određenim tržišnim segmentima. Prometna (ne)povezanost, bioraznolikost, kulturna baština i kapacitet nosivosti su elementi koji bi češće trebali biti predmetom rasprave prilikom izrade strateškog plana za područja specifičnog karaktera.
Abstract (english)
The subject of this bachelor degree is island tourism. The goal of this bachelor degree final paper is to explain through the theoretical base, as well on the example, the importance of understanding island tourism and its specifics. Besides the sun and sea which are characteristics pull factors for island all over Croatia, one of the motive is high degree of preserved natural conditions as well as its biodiversity. The paper describes the specifics of island tourism in general, which is later applied on the island of Šolta. There are also good and bad sides that tourism development has brought with, as well as what the islands should change to become more attractive to certain market segments. Transport (in)connectivity, biodiversity, cultural heritage and carrying capacity are elements that should more often be discussed when developing a strategic plan for areas of specific character.
