This paper presents the conceptual definiton of corruption, its development and impact on social position, economy and political structure of countries. The corruption segment is an extremely complex subject . The negative impact of corruption dominated in the environment makes it a significant everyday problem. By respecting social norms and acting in accordance with them, we can greatly contribute to the fall of corruption in Croatia. In a small steps strategy, it is necessary for each of us to take our own measures against it which will at least reduce the impact and occurence of corruption both in the world and in the Republic of Croatia. The principles and goals of this strategy, as well as efforts to raise awareness about the harmfulness of corruption are presented in this paper which also provides an overview of the conduct of investigations of corruption, prosecution and impositions of sanctions for corruption offences, as well as comparative analysis in numerous other countries affected by corruption.
