Management in crisis conditions includes planning, dealing with and recovering from the impact of crisis events. As the scope and complexity of the systems that organize modern society increase, crisis management becomes essential for all organizations. Crises are associated with urgent, high-stakes challenges where outcomes can vary greatly depending on the actions taken by those involved. Effective action in response to crisis situations requires optimal efforts. Instead of waiting until it is directly affected, the organization should start responding to the signals of a potential crisis as soon as possible. This Undergraduate Thesis presents the basics of management in crisis conditions by analyzing, among other things, definitions, stages of crisis management, management plan in crisis conditions, and gives two practical examples of successful crisis management by examining LEGO and Coca-Cola brands.
